John Dunlap is the founder of Cash My Guns and a trusted name in the firearms industry, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in buying, selling, and appraising firearms. Having personally evaluated tens of thousands of guns, he has a deep understanding of firearm valuation and has spent over a decade building a team of experts to help gun owners identify, appraise, and sell their collections with confidence.
A graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno with a bachelor’s degree in international business and marketing, John also serves on several public and private sector boards, offering guidance on issues ranging from workforce development to logistics. He is an Eagle Scout and has held various leadership roles in the Boy Scouts of America, including Scoutmaster.
John lives in Michigan with his wife, Courtney, and their four children. He finds joy in family time, church service, coaching youth sports, and restoring vintage British cars. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys hunting and fishing throughout Michigan and continues a family tradition of visiting Major League Baseball stadiums—a passion he now shares with his children, inspired by his grandfather.
