June 2025 Gun Market Trends: What We’re Seeing at CashMyGuns
As we close out the month, trends across all of our reports here at CashMyGuns in June give us valuable insight into the firearms resale market. From collectible classics to modern tactical trade-ins, we have seen a wave of interesting inventory that sheds light on what many sellers are doing, and why. Here is your inside look at what has been coming through our doors and what it might mean for the months ahead.
What Types of Guns Are Being Sold?
Collector, Vintage, and Military Firearms: A Clear Surge
Across the month, we’re seeing more antique, rare, and collector-grade guns flowing into the pipeline, these are often from estates or longtime collectors. Some highlights are:
- Winchester Model 94 (1941), Model 1890, Marlin 336 R.C. (1949)
- Colt 1877 Thunderer (1888)
- Pre-ban UZIs, FN Baby Brownings, and Merwin & Hulbert revolvers
- Luger P.08 (1917) and WWII/WWI-era German, Japanese, and U.S. rifles
This growing segment tells us two things: 1) Collectors are liquidating while the market is strong; and, 2) Buyers are increasingly seeking historic value, not just tactical function.
Forecast: Expect a continued uptick as aging collectors sell, estate sales rise, and historically significant guns appreciate in value.
Modern Tactical Firearms & CCW Pistols Remain Steady
Though collector and antique firearms are trending, modern semi-auto pistols and AR/AK-style rifles still form the backbone in seller flow:
- Glocks (22, 42, 21 Gen 4), Sig Sauer P320, Springfield Hellcat
- AR-style rifles like LWRC M6IC, Bear Creek BCA-15, PSA PA-15
- Norinco MAK-90 and other AK variants
Many of these modern guns are coming in from private sellers at a faster pace than previous months, often at or below their appraised value.
Forecast: Some sellers may be consolidating collections, reacting to market saturation, or prepping for potential policy changes.
Black Powder & Niche Historical Guns Appear More Frequently
Black powder and historical oddities have been a quieter, more consistent current throughout the month.
- Dixie Gun Works cap-and-ball pistols
- CVA Hawken flintlocks
- Thompson Center Hawken muzzleloaders
- Remington Model 9 single-shot
Forecast: This niche segment is growing quietly, possibly due to historical enthusiasts, reenactors, and family heirloom sales.
Seller Motivation: What We’re Noticing
High Value Collector Sales Are Profitable
- Historic/collectible guns are consistently appraising above acquisition cost, often by 20% or over 100%
- These sellers are likely strategic, cashing out at market peak or downsizing estates
Modern Firearms Selling Below Appraisal
- Many pistols and AR-style rifles sold for less than their appraised value
- Signs point to urgency, perhaps driven by lifestyle changes or looming legislation
Final Forecast for July & Beyond
Here’s where we think the market is heading:
- The collectible market is hot, especially with WWII, Old West, and pre-ban pieces, and likely to grow as aging demographics and economic liquidity needs intersect.
- Modern pistol and AR platforms will remain steady in volume, but pricing may fluctuate more based on demand and urgency.
- Black powder and oddball guns will quietly carve a niche as historical enthusiasm grows
CashMyGuns is seeing both serious collectors and everyday gun owners turning to us, either for convenience, estate needs, or trusted valuations.
