Customer Spotlight: Richard F. – A Lifetime of Firearms and a Smooth Selling Experience

At CashMyGuns.com, we love highlighting the stories of our customers. Every firearm that comes through our doors carries history, memories, and a unique journey. Today, we’re shining the spotlight on Richard F., a lifelong gun owner who recently entrusted us with selling his collection.

A Lifetime with Firearms

Richard’s connection to firearms began at just 12 years old, when his father, an avid hunter, introduced him to shooting. Over the next 68 years, Richard acquired firearms not as a formal collector, but more as someone who appreciated their value and utility. From his very first .22 rifle and shotgun to acquisitions made just 10 years ago, each piece held a story.

“It was a little hard to part with some family heirlooms and my first .22 and shotgun,” Richard shared. “But I’ve had firearms all my life, and I’ve enjoyed every bit of it.”

Why It Was Time to Sell

Like many gun owners, Richard faced a turning point. Age and health shifted his priorities, and he knew it was time to pass along his firearms.

“I’m getting too old to hunt any longer. My children have no interest in hunting or target shooting, and I didn’t want to burden my wife when I die,” he explained.

The decision wasn’t easy, but Richard was motivated by practicality, care for his family, and the peace of mind that comes from planning ahead.

Choosing CashMyGuns.com

Before working with us, Richard considered selling his guns individually but decided that working with one trusted company was the better path.

“Honestly, it was just easier to sell them all in one place than to do it piecemeal,” he said.

He first discovered CashMyGuns.com online and quickly felt at ease with our team:

“I found you to be some genuine people. In my opinion, I found your group to be outstanding.”

The Experience

Richard described the process as simple, smooth, and fair from start to finish.

  • Website & Appraisal Request: “Your website was very easy to use and your group is good people to deal with.”
  • Communication: “I felt your communication skills are very good.”
  • Offer: “Yes, I felt the offer was fair. I guesstimated 50-60% of book value. I understand you need to cover expenses and make a profit.”
  • Transaction: Richard delivered his firearms in person at our Reno location, conveniently on the way to a casino trip with his wife. “It paid off, she hit a jackpot!” he joked.

What stood out most to Richard was meeting our staff:

“I just enjoyed meeting your crew. I feel you are all genuine ‘gun people.’”

Life After the Sale

Once the sale was complete, Richard described feeling both relieved and happy. He plans to use the proceeds to help with his daughter’s medical expenses, turning his longtime firearms collection into something meaningful for his family.

And when asked if he’d recommend us, his response was simple:

“Yes, I would recommend you. I feel your group are honest, reliable people.”

Richard with the Cash My Guns crewFinal Thoughts from Richard

Richard offered one suggestion: perhaps even more eye-catching advertising to spread the word about our services (we’re on it!). Beyond that, he expressed his appreciation for the smooth process and personal connection he experienced:

“May I say I very much enjoyed meeting you folks and working with you.”

Thank You, Richard

We’re honored to have had the opportunity to work with Richard and help him with such an important step. Stories like his remind us why we do what we do: to make selling firearms safe, simple, and trustworthy for every customer.
